Gearing Up For A Book Launch! 🚀
Plus all manner of joyful 🌞 things to make you smile!
It’s so hard to believe that we’re less than a month away from the launch of my latest novel, The Happiness Collector! I began writing this book about a year after things started opening up again after the pandemic, at a time when my then-editor had suggested people wanted “happy” books. Somehow, I twisted that into a book about happiness disappearing from the world and how to get it back. But I swear, there IS a lot of happiness in it! It’s also a love letter to Italy. 🤌🍕🍷 I hope you’ll consider joining me to celebrate this book coming into the world.
I’ll be in conversation with my friend and fellow author, Julie Carrick Dalton, at Lovestruck Books in Harvard Square on Tuesday, December 2, at 7PM. You can purchase a ticket here (admits one person plus a guest and covers the cost of the book). There is a lovely wine bar there, and there will be complimentary cake!
I’ll tell you a secret…a signed book makes a wonderful holiday gift! 🎁And it’s also the best gift you could give me too, buying one of my books!
An eBook Deal!
A quick note… if you haven’t yet read my novel about famous Renaissance chef Bartolomeo Scappi, The Chef’s Secret, BookBub Chirp has the audiobook on sale for $3.99! Snag it here.
Thanksgiving Recipes
If you are looking for inspiration for your Thanksgiving dinner, my companion cookbooks, In The Garden of Monsters, The Chef’s Secret, Feast of Sorrow, have some delicious possibilities including:
Turkey with Pomegranate Sauce (a Renaissance recipe)
Renaissance Pumpkin Cheesecake Pie (this is soooooo good!)
If you make any of these, I’d love to know! Leave me a note in the comments or drop me a message.
What’s Bringing Me Joy
This game is so addictive if you love maps and geography. You can play all over the world, or narrow it down to a country. GuessWhereYouAre
If you are looking for a fun advent calendar, these online versions from Jacquie Lawson are so wonderful. I love giving these as gifts!
Nom, nom, nom!
I worship at the feet of Mary Beard when it comes to everything Ancient Rome. Long, but so interesting.
