And Just Like That, My Third Book Baby 📕🐣Was Born
Just in time for spooky season! Plus, recreate recipes from the novel.
Yesterday I was lucky enough to launch my third novel into the world at Harvard Bookstore! Author and podcaster Mark Cecil was an excellent interviewer. Unfortunately, I have been battling a bit of a cold and had lost much of my voice by the night's end, so I went home to bed afterward, but my tribe of author friends continued on and had a few drinks on my behalf. 🥂🍾
Launch day was kicked off a little early by a rave review in AP News, which is syndicated worldwide. I mean, who could ask for more than this?
“Told with super-smooth narration, ‘In the Garden of Monsters’ is sexy, scary and scrumptious — a magical, beautiful place you don’t want to leave with an ending even more surreal than the story that preceded it.”
I’ve been doing a bunch of podcasts, including this delightful one by author Jane Healey, host of Historical Happy Hour:
There is a LOT of food in this novel, and I was so lucky to work with a bunch of bloggers, food historians and chefs to recreate the flavors of IN THE GARDEN OF MONSTERS. It’s not a book you should read on an empty stomach! Here’s a sampling:

One of my besties sent me this, and it cracked me up. And he’s far from insignificant in my book.
